To the rear of Pease Bay you will find Pease Dean Nature Reserve with a variety of birds and roe deer, also perfect for dog walking. There is a coastal path top one side of Pease Bay which leads you down to the quaint Cove Harbour, built in 1770 and mainly used for smuggling, some caves still exist. In more recent times it has been used in several films including Mrs Brown (with Billy Connelly and Dame Judy Dench). Travel a short distance along the coast and you will find the world famous geological site Siccar Point. Geologists from all over the world come to visit. You will find Pease Bay perfectly positioned for some great days out. 20 miles south and you’ll find yourself in North Northumbria with Berwick-upon-Tweed and its market day, Holy Island and Bamburgh. Travel north 40 miles and you’ll find Edinburgh with it shops, castle, history and architecture not to mention the Edinburgh festival. Why not just travel to Dunbar, 9 miles, park your car and take one of the regular trains straight into the heart of Edinburgh. Click on some of the links below for ideas for some great days out.
