Since Pease Bay Holiday Home Park has opened, it has worked continualy hard to active a high standard of operation and saftey for all of its customers, This has been reflected and shown by the awards that the park has recieved, such as the {Calor Gas Caravan Park Award}, the {Scottish Thistle Award}, the {Good Beach Guide Award} The {Scottish Tourist Board 5 Star Award} and a beach recommendation by the {BBCi Website}.

The Calor Caravan Park Awards

Most of us have enjoyed a holiday in a caravan but everyone knows how poorly designed caravan parks can be a blot on the landscape. On the other hand, a well-situated and developed site brings people closer to nature, the fun of the countryside and is an asset to the local economy.

The Calor Gas Caravan Park Awards scheme, which is now in its fifteenth year, is run in conjunction with the UK's national tourist boards and is supported by the National Caravan Council and the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The scheme rewards environmental aspects of park design and management and assesses how facilities blend in with the surrounding landscape.

Campers, caravan owners and users are among Calor's most traditional customers. The Calor Gas Caravan Park Awards celebrate achievement & encourage improvement in the environmental design & management of parks.

Scottish Thistle Awards

When you are looking for a place to stay, you look to the Tourist Board for reassurance.

Every park in this guide is visited every year by Scottish Tourist Board inspectors and assessed for the quality of its facilities and services. For year 2000, a new grading system has been introduced based on research with visitors staying in parks, where a simple system of Stars tells you the quality standard, replacing the previous Tick scheme.

The new scheme still assesses all aspects of a park for the quality of its visitor provision with particular emphasis on the level of cleanliness of the facilities. It now tells you the standard on the easily understood Star format used by the Scottish Tourist Board for all inspection schemes. Parks can achieve the highest grades regardless of size or range of facilities.

To help give you an indication of the type of park on offer, Stars are awarded alongside three categories:

Holiday Park
A park which offers holiday homes and most likely touring and camping pitches.

Touring Park
A park which offers touring pitches and may offer camping pitches

Camping Park
A park for camping only

Thistle Awards are issued to individual caravan holiday homes which offer a high standard of accommodation. These are sited on parks with the top gradings under the Scottish Tourist Board Park Grading Scheme - those with three to five stars. They are inspected every year by the Scottish Tourist Board to ensure they offer these standards for the coming holiday season.
